The following steps will guide you through setting up an Internet connection to WRKCS.net on Windows Millenium Edition.
- Creating a Dialer
- Click on the 'Start' button, then click on 'Settings', then click on 'Control Panel'
- If only a few Control Panel options are listed, click on 'View all Control Panel Options' on left-hand list.
- Double-click on 'Dial-Up Networking'
- Double-Click on the 'Make New Connection' icon
- In the 'Type a name for the computer you are dialing' box, type WRKCS.net. and then click the 'Next' button.
- In the 'Telephone number' box, type the your local dial-up number.
- Don't type anything in the area code box, then click the 'Next' button and on the next screen click the 'Finish' button.
- Right-click on the WRKCS.net icon and then click 'Properties' on the menu that pops up.
- Un-check the 'Use Country code and Dialing Properties' checkbox (about half-way down the screen).
- Click on the 'Security' tab and then type in the user name and password in the appropriate boxes.
- Click on the 'Dialing' tab and Check the box beside 'This is the default Internet connection', and
- select the circle beside 'Always dial my default connection' then click the 'OK' button.
- Click on the 'Network' tab and un-check 'NetBEUI' and 'IPX/SPX Compatible' in the protocols section of the window.
- Click on the 'Advanced' button next to TCP/IP.
- Select 'Server Assigned IP Address' at the top of the screen.
- Select 'Specify Name Server Addresses', and enter 63.166.168.21 for the primary DNS and 166.102.90.11 for the secondary.
- Click on 'OK' on the advanced window, then click on OK on the WRKCS.net connection window.
- Your Computer is now set up to connect to the Internet! You can now go back to the support menu and get the instructions for your browser, email and news reader.
